Description of Treatment
The combination of HALO with BBL is unbeatable.
Most of our patients get a synergistic effect when the treatment is mixed. The BBL treatment will be performed first to treat any surface-level imperfection including discoloration and pigmentation. Your provider will then perform a HALO treatment to target deeper layers of the skin for anti-aging and texture purposes—the combined treatment results in complete skin rejuvenation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Broadband Light (BBL)?
Broadband Light (BBL) safely delivers light into the skin to reduce the appearance of sun damage, redness, broken capillaries, pigmentation, acne & laxity, all while stimulating collagen growth to improve skin texture over time.
What is HALO?
Combining ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, this hybrid fractional laser treats both superficial and deep layers of skin to remove the dull, outer layers while stimulating collagen and elastin production deep down. Expected downtime is 5-7 days as initial redness fades and skin sloughs.
What should the patient expect on the day of treatment?
The BBL / HALO Laser Treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. The skin is anesthetized with topical numbing cream 1 hour prior to your treatment. The skin is first cleansed and prepped for BBL and the eyes are protected with safety shields. During the treatment, ultrasound gel is placed on the skin and a number of short, high-intensity light flashes will be delivered to the treated area in a short period of time. This area is then cleansed, and the face is scanned with the HALO handpiece to determine the treatment protocol for each individual face. Treatment involves rolling the laser onto the face to deliver a customized amount of energy to the treated area. Once treatment is complete, your face will feel warm for 1-2 hours.
Is there downtime from a BBL/HALO laser treatment?
Downtime from BBL / HALO is dependent on the severity of presenting conditions and the depths of the treatment performed. Each treatment is tailored to the specific concerns of the patient. You will notice redness similar to a sunburn and mild to moderate swelling immediately after your treatment and into the evening. 24-48 hours after your treatment, you will continue to experience swelling and redness, and you will notice darkened areas of treated pigmentation that will fade and flake after 5-7 days. This is the process of your body removing dead skin cells.
When will I see my BBL/HALO results and how long will my results last?
The BBL/HALO combo provides long-lasting results and is fully customizable to lifestyle and desired outcomes. Patients with little to no downtime may choose to have several light treatments spread out over months. Alternatively, 1-2 more aggressive treatments can be done for quicker results.
Improvement in the skin appearance (reduction of pigmentation and redness), improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, improved texture, reduced pore size, and glowing skin will be seen after one week and will continue to improve for up to 6 months. To maintain results, annual repeat treatments are highly recommended.
